The foundation of this style of yoga is based on effortlessness and gentleness, by relying on the support of yoga props such as blankets, bolsters, blocks, yoga straps, sandbags, eye pillows, chairs, and sometimes even a wall, to induce the body and mind into a state of deep relaxation.

The premise being that support allows the body to naturally release, letting go of deeply held muscular tension and stress.  This then invokes a state of healing, rest, and renewal.
