As the insignia of the month of February, this stone carries the energy of love, creativity, spirituality, sobriety, and temperance. This sparkling, purple, crystalline quartz,  originate in Africa and Brazil. While it may be found elsewhere, these are the most common locations of origin. It can be found by itself or as an inclusion with other crystal formations. The various forms of calcite originate from all parts of the globe.
